Monday Musings, April 10
Hey there friends! Hope your weekend was a good one!
My menfolk were off doing menfolk things on Saturday and I used the time to work around the house. As an aside, why is it that I get so much more done when I’m home alone? Do you find that too?
I watched the movie Joy Saturday night and so enjoyed it. I like most anything that Jennifer Lawrence is in and this was no exception. And I didn’t know that it was based on a true story!
So, this is an important week in our country…did you know that Tuesday, April 11 is both Barbershop Quartet Day AND National Submarine Day? And if that won’t be enough excitement in one week; Wednesday is Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day, Thursday is Scrabble Day and Friday is International Moment of Laughter Day!
We can combine all these events and listen to a Barbershop Quartet sing Yellow Submarine while eating Grilled Cheese Sandwiches and playing Scrabble. There is no doubt we’ll be laughing and giggling the whole time.
Well, I seriously need to plan one of these. How about you.
And when I have that do-nothing day, these tips will be handy.
How great is this garage?
How about Spring printable? Emily Jones’ watercolor would be the perfect addition to a Spring vignette.
My guys are ‘meat and potato’ guys, but I’m working on bringing more veggies to our dinner table. Since they’ll eat anything ‘Asian’, I’m going to try this Vegetable Stir Fry for a Meatless Monday meal.
I’ve recently discovered Tim Ferriss’s podcasts and have so enjoyed my walks listening to his interviews. On my Saturday morning walk, I listened to his interview with Debbie Millman, who has had an extraordinary life after overcoming significant challenges. I loved her idea of her 10-year plan for a remarkable life. What a enlightening and encouraging exercise, especially when reviewed on an annual basis.
Well friends, I hope your week is a good one! It’ll be a busy one as we try to fit in all the special days!
