Like you, I so enjoyed reading Rowling’s books to our children. She is incrediby gifted. In my next life, I’d love to be reincarnated as a writer with her imagination.

I’m never without a book (actually, nowadays it’s a Kindle) and I find that the ‘official’ reviews/synopsis’ aren’t very helpful. I have to agree with you on the Ink Black Heart – those chat transcripts were a total pain. I’m a bit of a compulsive editor – when I run into any writing that hasn’t been well edited I end up getting bogged down in the misspellings, poor sentence structure and so on. So those ‘chats’ gave me nightmares! Otherwise, I do like that author. Actually got hooked on her by reading her Harry Potter books to my son when he was little.
