If I may….if “The Calamity Club” by Kathryn Stockett hasn’t crossed your radar yet, set your sights for it. (Stockett’s “The Help” is a good introduction to her character-building style should you have happened to have read it.) At 600+ pages it’s a lot to digest, but I read it in less than two days because I was consumed by the women of Lafayette County and their “sisu.” Penny candy never tasted so good. Having a choice between two dresses. Or having a man pay a dime for a dance. Or managing to stretch a chicken to feed 20. They figured out how to do it all. And then some. Read the first 25 pages and you’ll be hooked. You’ll say “YAHOOO! You go, girl! at the end.

Ah, I’ll have to check out the Britbox series. I’m curious how they portray Dalgliesh!

You are way ahead of me on your books! Do you count your audible books? Now, if I count my audible books, then I’ve probably blown my goal out of the water. I’m a tad hooked.

Thanks for the suggestions, I’ll look into Maas, though I’m not typically into fantasy. But, hey…got to keep an open mind!

I have to say that I loved the Dalgleish books some time ago then recently watched episode on (maybe) Britbox. Not sure I like the chosen actor but it’s interesting.
I also love the Fen series. I dole them out so as not to finish them! I also do this with the Lonemire series of books. I don’t know if I wrote this before but the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas was really good for a fantasy series. There are hundreds out there it seems! She started the first book at 16 years old. Amazing.
My husband talked me into listening to an Audible book which I was prepared to sleep through. It is by Brett Bair and was so interesting that I didn’t let anything distract me while listening. It is called To Rescue the Constitution and it basically revolves around George Washington and the history of pre-revolution to his death. I recommend it. I see the author has many historical books so I may try another.
My goal is 100 this year and I am at about 50 so we’ll see. Penny
