You and I are of the same mind with decluttering, but I haven’t been as disciplined as I would like with the ‘one in, two out’ rule. I need to double down on that. And, like your, my husband is the weak link when it comes to decluttering. You’ve encouraged me to give the ten questions another try with him.

A few years ago I started “bring one thing in, 2 things out”. Since then there has been only one sweater which I wish I had kept and most of the things I don’t remember. However, my deepest motivation for decluttering is that I don’t want to leave a mess for my children to dispose of. I believe it would be a blessing that I could give them. Like so many people my age (79) our children and grands don’t have the same depth of sentimental value for “stuff”. My problem is my husband who is a borderline hoarder. He has made many attempts at getting rid of stuff but it comes right back. I am going to try to work with him using the ten questions.

That just doesn’t cut it – there’s something about the wood that feels good as you work. Your photo of the round iconic Tinkertoy box makes me want to reach out and grab it – it’s probably a collector’s item. Please make sure it goes to an appreciative home!
