Well…I don't know about you, but that was a quick weekend!
It started on Friday morning with me sharing with my mom that this was going to be the weekend I caught up on stuff that needed to be done. We had nothing on our calendar, it was going to be a warm Saturday, we had a long to-do list and we were going to buckle down and cross some nagging chores off of the list. By the end of the day on Friday we learned that my daughter's car, which had been in the shop for the past couple of weeks, would cost more to repair than it is worth.
So…Saturday morning Terry and I went used car shopping, without our daughter who is away at school. We sent her pics and videos along the way and chatted with her after driving each car. When we went home that evening we thought we had nailed it down.
Then we spent the night mulling it over and switched to another car. We were back to the dealership when they opened at noon on Sunday, bought the car, drove the car to my daughter 2.5 hours away, had a quick bite with her, turned around and drove home just in time to watch Olympic Figure Skating.
Note to Self: Never, EVER say that this will be the weekend you will catch up…you will most certainly jinx yourself.
On the bright side…this was the nicest car buying experience we have ever had AND we got the chance to have a quick fix with our sweet girl.
So, let's talk Figure Skating…did you see Adam Rippon's performance? Explain to me how the performance by Kolyada (who happened to fall, FYI) was better than Rippon's! I'll admit that I'm probably a tad biased…but…in all honesty…help me understand that one.
So, inasmuch as I will never say the words ‘This is the weekend I will catch up', I probably ought not to say ‘Doing Nothing is Important…which is what I am going to do this weekend' either. Not to say I won't try to ‘do nothing'…I just won't say it out loud.
It's a rainy day here on the East Coast of the US…perfect day to plan a noodle bowl for dinner.
Now this was an interesting read! It made me realize that we, unintentionally, have been adopting this mentality over the years.
I do appreciate a good olive oil!
I'm working up the gumption to try a Financial Fast…have you ever tried one?
I do hope you have a fantastic Monday…and whatever you do…don't try to catch up! I guess we need to learn to just roll with it.
