August has not shaped up to be so good for my husband & me. We were suddenly evacuated the night of August 16 & lost our house (+ 4 outbuildings) the following night in the Lolo Peak Fire, Montana, due to a back burn which went horribly wrong. One of our neighbors lost their house as well and other neighbors lost outbuildings.

What was once a forest of mature Ponderosa & Douglas Fir trees, now looks like black pick-up sticks waiting to fall. Very surreal landscape.

My husband, 2 dogs, 4 cats & I got out safely. Unfortunately, won’t be doing much of anything for a long time…no knitting, no crocheting. Now begins the process of rebuilding our lives…Houston…please send us some of your water!!!!!
