Hello there fellow semi-colon lover! When used properly (which is critical) they are such a lovely transition. Like you, I used them primarily to link 2 stand-alone but related sentences. Let’s stand tall against this semi-colon slander!!

I was taught that a semi colon links stand alone sentences, which are linked in thought in some way. Very powerful when used sparingly.
