Monday Musings, May 10

I sincerely hope you had a lovely weekend! We were blessed with gorgeous weather that kept us working in the yard most of the day on Saturday and enjoying an outdoor Church service on Sunday. We had a delicious brunch with my mom yesterday and I am beyond excited to take advantage of the car detailing and massage gift certificates I was given! My family surely knows the way to my heart.

Tomorrow is National Eat What You Want Day! Next to Christmas, Easter, my birthday, the Fourth of July, and Mother’s Day it is my favorite day! But, now I am flummoxed! Making decisions is so NOT one of my strong suits and having to decide what to eat tomorrow will occupy much of my gray matter today! 🤣 What will you enjoy tomorrow?

One possible suggestion are these Short-Rib Tacos, which just garnered this glowing review,

“delightful and delicious “ is an exact quote from my hubby after eating this dish. I changed a few things substituting beef roast for ribs, used my crockpot and served with pickled onions and queso cheese. This is a keeper! Thank you.

If you are pondering your container gardens, you are in the right place. Read this post on Container Gardening 101 for the basics, including suggested plants for your Thrillers, Fillers and Spillers. If you are looking for inspiration and recipes for Container Gardens, I have you covered there, as well. We have three posts sharing some sample container gardens and the ‘recipes’ involved to make them. It seems I am guilty of an embarrassing lack of imagination, as the posts are titled Container Garden Ideas and Recipes #1, Container Garden Ideas and Recipes #2, and Container Garden Ideas and Recipes #3.

For my knitting friends, all our car travel lately gave me ample opportunity to work on a new baby blanket, which I should be able to share in the next week or two. In the meantime, this sweet Cloverleaf Eyelet Baby Blanket and this fun Argyle Baby Blanket are great projects to welcome the new babies in your world.

We planted several pickling cucumber plants yesterday. Looking forward to putting up several jars of these so easy to make Refrigerator Dill Pickles. The beauty of this recipe is that you make the brine in advance and then can pickle the cukes as you pick them, one jar at a time if necessary.

Will you be doing some canning this Spring and Summer? This Blueberry Jam is a perfect place to start for new canners.

Well, I am off to finish up this new baby blanket and hopefully to get some plants in the ground before it rains today.

Wishing you a wonderful and fulfilling week.

Hugs,

Signature of Lynn

Thanks for making my day by SHARING!!
