Hi Kathy,

Well, looks like you sent your cold Wisconsin weather east! I woke up this morning (South Eastern North Carolina) to 6 inches of snow! You can come get your weather now! 😉 Actually, the pups enjoyed frolicking in the snow! It’s the first time she’s seen it.

And that Ham and Bean soup is perfect for days like today! And it accomodates what you have in your pantry extremely well! I’m actually all set for split pea soup for tonight, another good snowy day meal.

It was perfect for the cold days recently experienced in central Wisconsin. I did use canned beans because I had them in the pantry, and a large ham bone (frozen from the holidays), and lots of carrots and celery. I used leek instead of onions. I must say, it turned out extremely well. That recipe is a definite keeper.
