Hi Valorie,

Thanks for the sweet message! 🥰

Believe me, my husband hit the same place yours did towards the end of packing the car! And now, we are already planning this Christmas's trip and it seems we will most likely be taking my mom's dog with us! I told mom she would have to fly...no room for her or her suitcases. But we can squeeze her dog in! 🫣

So, as it relates to Elsa...I purchased a very inexpensive dog 'seatbelt' from Amazon. Hooks on the headrest or can be hooked into seat belt. It kept her relatively contained in the car. I also gave her some trazodone, as prescribed by our vet...just to lower the anxiety. Worked great.

Thrilled your daughter wanted some dishcloths! I love that and glad you found some patterns you liked.

Thanks again for your kind message!

Hugs,

Happy New Year Lynn!
I love that you rented the SUV to take everything you needed/wanted to Cleveland 😊. We lived in Columbus, OH for many years before moving to Mobile, AL. We went back “home” to spend Christmas with our friends and to pick up our daughter who was attending college about 45 min away from Columbus. We had a Samoyed (full grown) and he went with us. We DID NOT rent a larger vehicle and when packing up Christmas with our friends, the dog, our daughter and all her “stuff” there wasn’t an inch of space left in the car or the trunk! I kept bringing things out for my hubby to pack up and each time he began rearranging it. When I brought out a roll of wrapping paper, he turned around to me and said, “We’re leaving the d@*# wrapping paper!” 😂

Anyway, we now have a malamute puppy and I’m wondering what your strategy was for taking Elsa in the SUV? I’m looking at travel crates, seat belts, etc but he’s expected to get between 90-110 lbs and I can’t figure out what might be best for traveling with him.

I also wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your weekly newsletters and have downloaded and made many of the knitting and crochet projects. My daughter wanted dish cloths and towels for Christmas and I knitted a bunch of those on your site. Thank you for sharing!

Wishing you a happy, healthy, and peaceful 2026!
