When I was @ 8 or 9, my Grandma taught me how to crochet - that's almost 60 years ago. The Christmas after I learned, I put crochet edging on handkerchiefs for Mom, 2 Grandmothers and numerous Aunts and Great-Aunts....guess the men missed out, but I vividly remember Mom ordering the handkerchiefs and cotton from Leewards for me to do them....thanks for reminding me of that memory. Since then I have added edgings to handmade antimacassar sets (I don't think they're used much anymore....they were made of linen like cloth that went over the arms of chairs/sofas and a flat piece that would be on the backs of the furniture where the head would hit), napkins, coasters, sheets and pillowcases, afghans...you name it, if you could edge it, I tried it!
