Hi Laura,

Aw, I love the idea of sitting in your kitchen having our coffee! That's been my goal, to make this a warm place to settle in and learn something new or get a little encouragement.

And you can't beat a charcuterie board...we still do them for dinner from time to time.

Have a wonderful time at the wedding and in Italy! I love Italy and find something new to love every time we return.

Thanks for your kind words.

Hugs, Lynn

Hi Terrie,

My mom is from Pittsburgh too, so I definitely claim those roots as well. Philly and Pittsburgh are two really great cities...enjoy them both.

And thanks for your blessings and kind words! I'll always take those.

Hi Cathy,'
Congrats to your nephew! That is a tough residency to get. And yes, our commencement address was really great...thankfully! 😵‍💫

My mom's family is actually from Pittsburgh too, so Matt and my mom teamed up. But at the end of the weekend, he really found lots to love about Philly. I really like both cities.

Thanks for your kind words and well wishes!

In reply to <a href="https://nourishandnestle.com/news-from-the-nest-may-19/#comment-22007">Colleen</a>.

Hi Colleen,

I'm slowly crawling out from under laundry, folding clothes, unpacking and repacking!

I'm chomping at the bit for our trip! We have been to Italy several times and found more reasons to love it each time we went! Thus far, Florence and Sorrento are my favs, but the history in Rome just can't be touched!

We are doing a cruise down the Adriatic, starting in Venice and stopping in Slovenia (where my mom's family is from), Croatia, Montenegro and then Corfu, Santorini and Athens. We won't have has much time to spend in each place as we like, but it will be our first time in any of those countries other than Venice. I think of it as a little sampler, where we can discover where we'd like to go back to!

Thanks for your well wishes for Kate. Boy, that was a hard earned degree...as it should be. Seems there needs to be a support group for parents!

Thanks again for your kind words!

Hugs,

A great newsletter, Lynn! I am envious of your trip to Italy and Greece. I have never been to Greece, but would love to go, and, I have been to Italy. (Have you?) I loved it there and would go back anytime! We actually lived in Milan for 3 months while hubby was working there. It was lovely, and we did some travelling as well. Rome, Venice, Cinque Terre, and Lake Como. Rome was my favourite of all. High speed trains are a fast way to travel there! Only 2 hours to go from Milan to Venice. Went and toured around and came back all in the same day! I will be looking forward to hearing about everything! Btw..congratulations to your daughter! Good for her and she is a beauty! You and your husband must be very proud!

Congratulations to Dr Katie on her graduation! My nephew graduated last year and just finished his first year of orthopedic residency. So I realize what a major accomplishment that is for your Katie!
The commencement speech sounded great and very relevant (unlike some which can be 😴 - me, 40 yrs ago just waiting for the speaker to finish!) My oldest daughter is an oncology nurse (13+ yrs) and the therapies they have for cancer now are truly amazing. That's so neat that you got to hear about it from Dr June.
My husband is from Pittsburgh so I know EXACTLY what you meant about no love lost between Philly and "The Burgh." Glad Kate's boyfriend had fun in the City of Brotherly Love. But if you ever get a chance to visit Pittsburgh there are lots of very fun places to go there, once you decipher the Pittsburghese lol.
Thanks for all your fun posts.
Congratulations again to Katie

Good morning Lynn! As usual I feel as though you are sitting right here in my kitchen having a cup of coffee with us as I read your blog! Thank you for the charcuterie board ideas! We have young grandchildren 8 years old and younger and I am always looking for foods that even they will love. The first time a made a board for our daughter and her kids she couldn’t believe how well they ate. They are rather picky eaters most of the time.
I am also very excited and eager to make the baby hat! I am a knitter and am always looking for fun and useful gifts to make. We have had a beautiful bunch of great nieces and nephews born in the last year!
God bless you in your travels. We will head to St. Louis the 2nd weekend of June for a nephew’s wedding and then we go to Italy for a pilgrimage the last week of July and the 1st weekend of August. Busy and fun times here for sure!

Thanks so much,
Laura
