Do you find it easy to clean out the pipes each spring after they bees have emerged? I was wondering if you used compressed air or something else.

Hi Paula, love that you and your yard are Wide Open! Highly recommend an Insect Hotel! Easy and fun to make...plus really cool to look at...plus...make the bugs happy.

Once you've built your insect house...share a picture! I'd love to show all the different variations.

Happy day my friend.

Hugs, Lynn

I so much want to do this! It is my first year in this house and I find that my backyard is pretty much open to whatever I want to do. I love the idea of clover, as mentioned by one of your readers. I can't afford to buy cedar; although there is a cedar tree in my front yard, it actually belongs to the town. I do have some scrap wood that I could use; it wouldn't be permanent but neither are the potential dwellers.
I met one of my neighbours yesterday. Her entire front yard is given over to plants and flowers to attract insects, including milkweed. She told me that this was the first year she had monarchs visit!

Hello Lynn, this bug hotel is soooo cute! We pretty much always have some leftover wood lying around so I bet I could make a small one up fairly easily. Thank you for a great idea! I saw your Pinterest links on Blogging Fifty and saved this out to read ~ posted to my Garden Projects and DIY Projects boards for you and our readers!

Good Morning Penny,

Yes, the plight of the bees is one that truly troubles my heart...they are so misunderstood and unappreciated. I will do just about anything to help the little critters...and this was a fun and easy project towards that end.

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving your encouraging comment! It is so very appreciated.

Wishing you a fantastic day my bee-loving friend.

Hey there my friend!

It was so easy to make! Surely Eddie could put his skills to work and whip one up in no time! And it looks like a lovely piece of lawn art as well...to me anyway...two birds with one stone!

Thanks for popping in today! Hugs and Kisses.
