In reply to Martha Gomez. Good MOrning Martha, Of course you could! I have always loved Berroco Modern Cotton for my baby blankets. I prefer a cotton, which may be a a little stiffer than some of the blends. But I think when washed, the cottons do soften.

Casting on 43 stitches should get you to a size between 8″ and 9″. Let me know if you have further questions!

Can this pattern be used with a softer yarn for washcloths or even a baby blanket? If I wanted to gift these as washcloths and not dishcloths can I use a softer yarn? Sugar n Cream yarn is a little stiffer. What yarn would you recommend for baby blanket?

Oh geez! I have fixed it, but it should be:

Row 1 *K1, P2, repeat from *, K1
Row 2 P1 *K2, P1, repeat from *

Could you please explain the stitch repeats on Rows 1 and 2? There is no asterisk in the printed pattern above indicating what the repeats should be across the rows. Thank you.
