Easy Steps...

Place chopped dates, water, and baking soda in a saucepan and bring to a boil- then soak for  20 minutes.

Mixing the Cake

Sift or whisk the flour, baking powder, salt, and cardamom together.

Cream together the butter and brown sugar. Then add the room temperature eggs one at a time.

Add the vanilla and date mixture, then pour in the flour mix one cup at a time.

Pour the batter into a prepared baking pan, then into the oven, it goes.
