Ingredients

  • One package Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry
  • 12 slices of thin bacon
  • Dark brown sugar or maple sugar optional

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400' F
  • Remove one pack of puff pastry from the box and let sit at room temperature for 30-40 minutes. Keep the other pack of puff pastry in the fridge.
  • Slice your bacon lengthwise in half, you will end up with 24 slices
  • Place 12 slices of bacon on foil lined, rimmed baking sheet
  • Bake for 7 minutes to pre-cook bacon.
  • While bacon is cooking, slice the puff pastry into 1/2 inch slices. The puff pastry is roughly rectangular, make your slices so that they are from the shorter side, and thus shorter than the longer side. You should get 12 pieces.
  • Once bacon is cooked, wait just until it is cool enough to handle. Don't let it cool too long as it becomes less pliable.
  • Leave oven on at 400'F
  • Put one piece of pre-cooked bacon on top of one slice of puff pastry and twist to your desired 'twisted-ness'.
  • Repeat for all bacon and puff pastry slices.
  • Generously sprinkle brown sugar or maple sugar over your twists and place back in oven for an additional 20 minutes or until brown.
  • Remove from foil immediately as the melted sugar will harden and make them difficult to remove when cool.
  • Repeat with remaining pastry and bacon slices
