- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
- 2 TB Molasses
- 1 stick of cinnamon
- 1/2-1 TB grated ginger depending on how gingery you want it
- 1 tsp whole black peppercorn
- 1/2 tsp whole cloves
- 1/2 tsp whole allspice
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
Combine all ingredients in saucepan
Heat over medium heat, stirring
Bring to a slow boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1/2 hour
Cool syrup
Pour syrup through a fine mesh
Store in a bottle in the refrigerator and use within two months
