This Apple Spice Bread is an easy to make quick bread that can be put together in less than half an hour! It’s a delightful cross between a moist bread and decadent cake!
1/4teaspoonsground nutmegfreshly ground if possible!
1/4teaspoonsground cloves
1/4teaspoonsground ginger
1/2cupvegetable oil
2large eggs
1/2cupgranulated sugar
1/2cupdark brown sugar
1cupunsweetened applesauce
1cupdiced apples2 apples, peeled and seed
2Tablespoonsmilknut milk, buttermilk, or apple juice
1Tablespoonvanilla
1/2cupchopped nutsoptional
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F for a 9" by 5" loaf or 325°F for mini-loaves
Grease loaf pans. (I really like Bak-Klene which you can purchase at Williams-Sonoma.)
Whisk the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and ginger in a large bowl.
In a smaller bowl or large measuring cup, combine oil, eggs, both sugars, applesauce, vanilla, and milk or milk substitute.
Pour wet ingredients over the dry ingredients, along with the diced apples. Gently mix together
Pour the batter into your prepared pan(s). Bake 9" by 5" loaf pan for 55-60 minutes (or mini-loaf pans for 35-40 minutes) or until a cake tester comes out clean.
Cool completely on a wire rack before removing from pans.
Will keep in the fridge for 7-10 days, assuming it doesn't get gobbled up beforehand!
