Spiced Pomegranate Cocktail

Pomegranate juice, spiced with ginger, cloves, cinnamon, and cardamom, is paired with vodka and herby/citrusy B & B in this festive Spiced Pomegranate Cocktail.

This Merry & Bright Spiced Pomegranate Cocktail was the featured drink at one of my “My Favorite Things” parties several years ago, and it was a hit and our group’s new favorite holiday beverage!

Steeping the pomegranate juice with the warming spices give the cocktail a lovely winter vibe. You can easily make the spiced pomegranate juice ahead of time and chill it.

Then, come cocktail time, you mix it with vodka, B & B, and a splash of seltzer. Simple!

Make this Spiced Pomegranate Cocktail for a crowd!

I mixed a pitcher of all the ingredients except the seltzer for my gathering. Then it was easy for guests to pour their own and add the splash of seltzer.

Here’s the recipe for a pitcher of Spiced Pomegranate Cocktail

  • 4 cups (32 ounces) of Spiced Pomegranate Juice (per the recipe)
  • 1 1/2 cups vodka
  • 1/2 cup B & B

Add to a glass with ice and top with a splash of seltzer.

What is B&B?

D.O.M. B & B is a blend of D.O.M. Benedictine and Brandy. Benedictine is a rich, coppery liquor made from a secret recipe over 700 years old. The blend of herbs and spices give the liquer a delightful spiced flavor with notes of honey and orange. You can see why it works so well in this Spiced Pomegranate Cocktail!

If you don’t have D.O.M. B&B, but you do have Benedictine, you can mix equal parts of Brandy and Benedtine for the B&B.

Because of its proprietary nature, Benedictine is not easily substituted. In this cocktail, you could use Drambuie or Yellow Chartreuse, mixed equally with Brandy for the B & B.

Festive Ice Cubes

Freeze a whole, fresh cranberry or two and a small sprig of rosemary with water in your ice cube tray for festive ice cubes. Pour your Pomegranate Cocktail over the ice cubes instead of adding them to shaker.

My friend Kathleen is my go-to resource for festive drinks, so it’s not surprising that she has several that feature pomegranates. Her Christmas Margarita is made with pomegranate and hibiscus juice, and her Pomegranate Punch features pomegranate and cranberry juices.
