Make this Cranberry Jalapeño Dip Ahead of Time
During the busy holiday season, make-ahead dishes are even more appreciated. This Jalapeño Cranberry Dip is ideal for early preparation.
Make the cranberry mixture up to a day in advance. Blend the cranberries, jalapeños, sugar, cilantro, lime juice, cumin, and salt, transfer the mixture to an airtight container and refrigerate. Allowing it to chill for at least 4 hours or overnight reduces day-of preparations and helps the flavors meld beautifully, resulting in a more balanced, flavorful dip.
Leave the cream cheese at room temperature for about 20-30 minutes before spreading, or whip it briefly with a mixer for an extra-light texture. This step can be done shortly before serving for the freshest presentation.
When ready to serve, drain any excess liquid from the cranberry mixture to keep the dip from becoming watery. Spread the softened cream cheese on your serving plate and top with the cranberry mixture. This step ensures the best texture and presentation.

For a milder dip, use only one jalapeño and remove the seeds and membranes, where most of the heat is concentrated. You can keep the seeds or add half or full jalapeño for extra spice.
I wouldn’t recommend dried. Frozen might work if they were well-drained. I think the flavor would be the same as frozen; I am just unsure of the consistency.

The cranberry mixture can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Once combined with cream cheese, it’s best enjoyed the same day, but any leftovers can be kept for an additional day.
