Desserts with Herbs

Expand your use of culinary herbs by using them in your desserts! These 10 Recipes for Desserts with Herbs will inspire to try some new flavor combinations.

Have you planted your herb garden yet? I’ve got most of my herbs planted, although many of my herbs have been growing in the pots on my deck for years. They definitely slow down in the winter, but I’ve been able to harvest parsley, mint and rosemary year round. I ‘ve just planted my basil, so it should start getting prolific soon now that the weather has warmed up.

Of course, we all use herbs regularly in our salads, marinades, and sauces, but I’d like to start using them more often in desserts. I have several sweet recipes that feature Rosemary (of course, since I’m the President of the I ❤ Rosemary Fan Club) including Rosemary, Fig and Nut Bread, Lemon Rosemary Scones, and Brown Butter Rosemary Cookies but I need to stretch my boundaries and try some different recipes for dessert with herbs.

To that end, I’ve rounded up some delicious-sounding recipes for desserts that use herbs. I will start working my way through them, but if you try any of these recipes, do pop back in and let me know what you think!
