Tailgate Recipes

A collection of 11 delicious Tailgate Recipes sure to make you the most popular person at your next Tailgate party.

It’s a happy week in my house!

College football starts in a mere 3 days!!!!

Without a doubt, college ball is our home’s favorite sport…but alas, Terry and I have allegiances to different teams.

Luckily we only play each other once a year.

Letting the skeletons out of the closet here…for probably 15 years we watched ‘the game’ separately, in different parts of our house, until our daughter played the adult one year and made us sit in the same room, on the same sofa to watch ‘the game.’  Good thing someone in the house was a grown-up.

And you can’t love football without loving tailgating. The two rather go hand in hand.

So, it’s no wonder that I’ve been compiling great tailgate recipes for our upcoming tailgating festivities.

Sharon, at Grits and Pinecones, shares her recipe for a great Southern Caviar Dip.  Not only is this perfect for a tailgate, but this is the kind of recipe that I love as leftovers as well.

Peas and Crayons shares her recipe for this fun football shaped cheese ‘ball.’ You know you’d be the hit of the tailgate showing up with this treat.

I may not be able to wait until my first tailgate to enjoy this Hot Caramelized Onion Dip with Bacon and Gruyere from Christin at Spicy Southern Kitchen.

And what’s a tailgate without a 7-Layer Bean dip! Check out Elaina’s recipe.

What’s not to love about Sweet and Spicy Stuffed Mushrooms? Uh, nothing at all! And you can make the filling in advance!

MEAT CANDY! (apologies to my Vegetarian/Vegan friends)…but I’m pretty smitten with any sugar-coated meaty thing right now.

Michaela’s Baked Roast Beef Sliders with Horseradish Sauce is perfect for your Saturday Tailgate, or your Monday lunch or your Tuesday dinner or …you get my drift.

These Savory Sausage, Apple and Sage Handpies are a nice change from your typical tailgate food. I also like that they can be made ahead of time!

And for when the weather starts changing and you are needing something warm and filling at your tailgate, you will be a hit with this hearty and chunky 12th Man Texas chili.

For my Vegetarian friends who just want more veggies at their tailgate…check out my Pressed Mediterranean Vegetable Sandwich.

And I will be THE.MOST.POPULAR.WIFE.IN.THE.WORLD when I make these Soft Beer Pretzels with Beer cheese Dip...even when my team beats his team!

So do you have go-to tailgate recipes? A signature dish without which your tailgate wouldn’t be the same and your team might lose if you don’t bring it? If so, I’m always on the lookout for great recipes and would love it if you would share it.
