A collection of purchased and handmade gift for mom.

I think we can all agree that the definition of a ‘mom’ does not have to include a biological connection.

So, for the woman in your world who loves you unconditionally, takes joy in making your favorite dinner and is always a willing listener, here are some gift ideas for moms for their birthday, Mother’s Day or Christmas.

Heck, you may just want to gift your mom just because it’s…well…Tuesday!

If you’d like to make a gift for your mom:

  • Hand Knit Washcloths: You could knit up a couple and pair them with a special bar of soap or bath soak. Check out all my knit washcloth patterns here.
  • Crochet Edged Linen Throw:  You can easily make a linen throw for mom in a week, or less with some basic sewing and crochet skills.  This throw is perfect for the spring and summer months when she just needs a light covering on some of those cool evenings.  Instructions are here.Linen Throw
  • Use the Waterlogue app to take photos of mom’s kids or grandkids and turn them into watercolor works of art.  You can print them on a heavy stock paper on your printer and then frame them or send the image to an online canvas print store.  See here for more information.Make Art! Suggestions to DIY your own artwork using the Waterlogue App. Perfect tool for adding to your Home Decor.

I hope these suggestions give you some gift ideas for moms.  I know I’d be thrilled with just about any of these (hint hint)!

You put such a great and thought list together Lynn. The Crochet Edged Linen Throw is so beautiful and sweet! Homemade gifts like this are my favorite.. I love the hand knit washcloths, too – so special! A Vitamix is a great idea ( I want one, too!), so are all the other suggestions!

Hi Ilka, I had a great time putting this list together…hopefully the fam is paying attention! Right? And I’m with you about how special home made gifts are. But I wouldn’t be crushed if one of those Kitchenaids made its way to me.
      Thanks for coming by today.

      Many hugs, Lynn

I love the watercolor idea! I had to trash my Kitchen Aid and would love a new one of those, too. My mom makes wash cloths that I absolutely love so those are always nice. Great ideas all around.

Kathryn, sounds like a Kitchenaid is on your wishlist, as it is mine. Fingers crossed we both end up with one. And the Waterlogue app is so much fun, I hope you do give it a try…come back and share what you’ve made!

      Many hugs!

I am so happy you reminded us of the fact that mother’s day is coming up. If I had to choose from your diverse selection I would have to go with the artwork. These are all very well thought out Lynn but maybe I should share this post with the family to make sure they get it.! 😉

Mary, I’m all about dropping hints! Wouldn’t it be great to have a ‘waterlogue-d’ photo of all your babes!? I’d love that. Yup…you need to leave some not so subtle hints. I find I have the best look if I let Kate know, then she can influence Terry.
Thanks for swinging by today friend.

      Many hugs, LYnn

      Wishing you a lovely Thursday.

Can I just adopt you? Your gift list is slightly amazing! LOL Almost as if you planned it just for me! All the kitchen gadgets make me happy! LOL Geeky, I know. But the garden items are the same! GAH! I need to win the lottery! Top it off with the print of your daughter in pumps….it would be the best mother’s day, EVAH!!!!

Hi Nikki…great minds think alike! But then again, who wouldn’t want a Kitchenaid? And I also get giddy around kitchen and garden implements as well. You could so do one of the pictures with Georgia in fun shoes! A mother’s day gift for yourself. Nothing wrong with that.
      Many hugs Nikki…Lynn
