Monday Musings, March 29

Happy Day, my friends!

I am one happy momma!

Not only did have both of my babies (my 24- and 21-year old babies) home for the weekend and one of them home for the rest of the week; but, yesterday we all gathered around the table with my mom for the first time in a year!

Just the simple act of setting the table for 5 buoyed my heart!

And talk about a Full House! In addition to our kiddos at home we have our old pup Flora (who really isn’t a dog person), Kate’s puppy Farrah (who has zero concept of personal space and invaded non-dog person Flora’s on the regular), Peep the Cat (who was understandably, absolutely miserable and is actively searching for a new home) and Kate’s rabbit, Remie (who tosses Darwin’s idea of Survival of the Fittest out the window as he actively seeks out the cat!)

We had an easy grilled flank steak (recipe coming) and a delightful salad made with Spring’s bounty of radishes, butter lettuce and herbs. We finished the meal with these easy-to-make-ahead Strawberry Tartlets.

Speaking of Strawberries, plan to set aside some of your strawberry bounty to make Strawberry Puree and Strawberry Curd, to enjoy the freshness of the fruit year-round.

I am so excited to give this baby blanket to its deserving recipient this week.

My dad’s Margarita Recipe continues to be one of the most popular posts on the site! I know I think it’s the best ever, but it warms my heart to know that so many others think so as well.

Have you heard about FONO (it’s the opposite of FOMO…fear of missing out!) I heard a psychiatrist talking about FONO last week and can completely see why it’s a real thing. After a year in lockdown, many people are experiencing a Fear of Normalizing! I’ve heard several friends and family members express anxiety about how to ‘re-enter society’ after Covid. So, if you too are feeling anxious, give yourself some grace. Know that what you’re feeling is normal and that it will be a process we are all going through.

Ten Questions to Ask Yourself When Decluttering

Well my friends, make it a good week and I’ll see you next week!
