Monday Musings, June 7

I hope this finds you enjoying a lovely Monday!

As I went out into my backyard this morning to feed my two favorite fowl friends, Reg and Delilah, I was greeted with this GORGEOUS sunrise.

Clouds always make for the best sunrises and sunsets…the whole silver lining thing!

And back to Reg (short for Reginald, of course) and Delilah; it seems that every year I get ‘adopted’ by one or two of our local fowl. My hope is that by endearing myself to them, they will build their nest in our yard and I’ll get to see all the ducklings on a regular basis. That being said, not that I am a waterfowl expert or anything, but I would think that they need to get busy on the nest and eggs thing if we are going to get ducklings anytime soon.

We have been busy around here. We will be having a Memorial Service for my dad this weekend; I will be giving the remarks and hosting family and out-of-town guests for dinner following the service. Spending the time to put into words my memories of dad has reinforced to me what a lovely man he was and what a lucky daughter I am.

We were also able to gather with our Game Night Friends at our home for the first time in almost 2 years! It was a reminder of just how much we need and missed socializing with special people over the past 18 months. We humans need and thrive on other human contact.

I will be preparing some simple, make-ahead appetizers for Saturday. Marinated Castelvetrano Olives, Jalapeño Cheese Spread, Rosemary Walnuts, and Fromage Fort are some of our favorite appetizers and, luckily, are easy to make.

    1. Thanks Judy,

My dad had Alzheimer’s for the last 5 years of his life, so I am at peace knowing that he is finally at peace. I am excited to celebrate him this weekend! He deserves it.

      Have a great day.
