Monday Musings, May 24

I’m not sure where I’ve been, but the fact that next Monday is Memorial Day just set me back on my heels! This time last year, we felt frozen in time, and that we can *almost* be normal again is making time fly.

I’ve been busy working in the yard and have a couple ‘projects’ to share with you in the near future.

We will be celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary in a few weeks and bought ourselves a new birdhouse to celebrate! Traditionally, Coral is the 35th wedding anniversary gift, but bucking that trend we opted for a birdhouse!

What are you reading these days? I am feeling a bit of a hole in my world as I finished the last Cormoran Strike novel and haven’t found anything to fill it yet. I heard (well in truth I starting stalking the JK Rowling fan boards) that she is working on a 6th one, she needs to get busy! For those of you who have also enjoyed the Cormoran Strike books, what did you find to help you fill that void?

I’m reading a book now titled “A Reliable Wife”. I don’t know how I feel about it; it is making me anxious which I guess is the sign that it is well-written. It’s a bit like watching a slow-motion car wreck in that I am not sure I am enjoying it, but I feel compelled to pick it up each evening.

I did finish this Oh-So-Sweet Grace Knit Baby Blanket! It’s filled with little rosebuds and edged in a sweet little ruffle, perfect for a new baby girl. I used a chunky cotton yarn, which also made it a very quick knit.

For my US friends, will you be celebrating Memorial Day or 4th of July with friends and family this year? If so, consider these Red, White and Blue Popsicles and these Red, White and Blue Cookies.

Father’s Day is creeping up on us, too! If your dad or hubby likes to spend time in the kitchen, these Gifts for Foodie Guys will come in handy.

If you’ve been following Nourish and Nestle for any amount of time, you know we are big into compost and compost tea. Along those lines, we also use eggshells in our garden for added calcium and to thwart the slugs.

I sent my daughter a jar of this Strawberry Rhubarb jam last month and luckily I still had a jar for her when she arrived home yesterday as she claims it is one of her new favorites.

Suggestions tof ways to Simplify Your Life to Reduce Stress.

Well, my friends. I hope you make some lovely memories this week!

I’ll ‘see’ you next week.

Hugs,

Signature of Lynn
