Monday Musings, July 6

Hello, my friends.

I do hope this finds you well and that you had a great weekend.

Honestly, I had another sinking spell this weekend. We had my mom over to share our 4th of July dinner; it was the first time that she had been over since the beginning of March. We were all so excited to be able to be together to celebrate the holiday! But the truth is, I was a nervous wreck!

I was so anxious making sure we all stayed 6 feet apart and that we didn’t accidentally pick up her glass. And when she left, it just underscored our current situation that, with Kate heading 500 miles away to attend medical school tomorrow, she and my mom couldn’t give each other a hug goodbye.

I felt sorry for myself for the rest of the day but rallied (kind of) on Sunday. I did get out in my yard to work in my flower garden, which is always cathartic. And, we are packing up today and moving tomorrow, so being busy will help me stay distracted.

What are you doing to keep your spirits up? It helped me on Saturday to chat with one of my girlfriends who always has a positive outlook. Make sure to surround yourself with positive people.

My email provider had some major glitches last week. I apologize if you didn’t get a Monday Musing or if you received more than one of them! In case the email didn’t make it to you, make sure you pop over for the Broken Rib Stitch Blanket pattern! It is a very quick knit made with soft, cushy, and washable yarn.

I haven’t purchased store-bought dog treats since, well…since the beginning of the year. At first, I was attempting to avoid going to the grocery store. Now I am trying to use what I have in my kitchen in an attempt to reduce kitchen waste. These easy to make, 3-Ingredient Dog Treats can use a variety of flours, fruits, and vegetables helping you save money and reduce food waste.

Are you starting to get cabin fever? Here’s a list of things to do when you have to stay at home.

Less than 6 months to Christmas, you could whip up these chunky knit stockings for all the elves in no time flat.

Is your garden popping out Jalapeño right and left? Consider this easy to make Jalapeño Wine Jelly or this Jalapeño Cheese Spread.

Well friends, we are off to get the U-Haul truck to start loading all Kate’s furniture and furnishings. I’m pretty sure I’ll get my steps in today and tomorrow!

Wishing you a great day and a great week.

Hugs,

Signature of Lynn
